There are several ways you can support the Castle.

Donate
Whittington Castle Preservation Trust relies on the income we generate to support the maintenance and development of the Castle. Running costs are high. Insurance alone is over £11,000 per annum and recent entry road improvements cost just under £6,000. Resurfacing the car park will be three time that and, in time, we will need to dredge the moat as it is slowly silting up.

Our visitors and supporters are generous but there is always more we can do if the funds are there.
By making a one-off or regular gift to the Castle you are helping with the maintenance and upkeep of the Castle, grounds, waterway and moat as well as providing education and interpretation resources to support school visits. The Castle is now registered for Gift Aid which adds 25p to every pound you donate.
If you would like to speak about giving a donation or leaving a legacy please contact, in confidence, our General Manager at [email protected], or the Trustees at [email protected].

You can also donate to the castle via our go fund me page. Please click the button below to visit the page.

Leave a legacy in your Will
Help us keep Whittington Castle open for generations to come by leaving a gift in your Will.
We appreciate that making a Will is a sensitive and highly personal matter, but if you decide to leave a gift to us, we would love to know so we can thank you properly during your lifetime. Informing us of your plans will also give us the opportunity to ensure we fully understand your wishes.
Everyone who chooses to leave a legacy in their Will to the Castle will become a member of the Lady Eleanor Society. In the C14th, Lady Eleanor, who married Fulk VI, created the Castle’s pleasure garden and refurbished the apartments
It’s very important when making or updating a Will to seek independent professional advice from a solicitor so we have teamed up with specialists Severn Estate Planning in Shrewsbury to offer you a free, no obligations Charity Will writing service.
SEP will waive their fee for writing a basic Will when clients agree to leave a donation to us. We would like to make is clear, however, that when you use this service, you are under no obligation to leave money to WCPT or anybody else. Your Will should represent your wishes.
Call Severn Estate Planning on 01743 387990 or email [email protected] to discuss your Will and to arrange a Charity Will. Find out more at https://www.severnestate.co.uk/
