Volunteer Roles
We currently have a wide variety of volunteering opportunities available. Volunteering is a great way to get out and meet new people, gain experience in a variety of roles, and give something back to your community. Please take a look and see what would suit you.
Gardening Volunteer
Our bramble bashers meet every Friday from 11:00 till 14:00 to perform a range of grounds maintenance tasks for the Whittington Castle Preservation Trust, including weeding, sweeping, brush clearing, and other light maintenance. Giftshop Volunteer
Often the first point of contact for visitors to Whittington Castle. This role is vital for raising funds for the Whittington Castle Preservation Trust by performing a variety of functions such as serving ice-cream, selling souvenirs, giving directions, and generally being a friendly face. No retail experience necessary. Morning (10:00-13:00) and afternoon (13:00-16:00) shifts available as well as ad hoc holiday cover. Event Volunteer
Event weekends are a busy time at Whittington Castle usually taking place during the summer months. We have a variety of rolls available including car park attendant, stall manager, retail support, and event marshal. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
General Volunteering
The Whittington Castle Preservation Trust is community managed and relies on our excellent team of volunteers for the upkeep and enjoyment of the castle for all. If you have some free time and are looking for something engaging and fulfilling to do, please get in touch. We’re proud to support local colleges and charities with work experience opportunities, such as the Duke of Edenborough award scheme.
